Demand for affordable housing in Sacramento’s central city is so high that units of just 267 square feet with nary a parking space filled up in under a month.
Sonrisa, at 1322 O St., will have a formal dedication on April 28, though all 58 units in the five-story project were leased by the end of March.
“With this site specifically, we were really conscious of how the whole building looks and feels for everyone involved,” said Renee Funston, a project manager for Capitol Area Development Authority. The authority’s nonprofit development arm teamed with CFY Development Inc. for the project, which cost about $21 million.
