California’s Department of Housing and Community Development has sent back Davis’ plan to accommodate housing, finding it deficient in several areas.
As a result, the city needs to update its housing element in regard to two proposed projects, accurately document an inventory of potential sites for housing and update programs planned to help provide affordable housing.
“The element will meet the statutory requirements of State Housing Element law once it has been revised and adopted to comply with the above requirements,” states the April 3 letter to Davis City Manager Mike Webb from Melinda Coy, proactive housing accountability chief for the Department of Housing and Community Development.
