A commercial property on E Street near Downtown Sacramento is still planned to be converted to housing, but a different kind than previously proposed.
The new application for 1517 E St. includes a project called The Villa of E St. — with 16 three-story, detached homes, rather than apartments as in a previous proposal.
“This property would provide affordable single-family detached housing to the existing R3 guidelines, in an area where higher density is relatively common,” the application states, referring to city zoning in that neighborhood, known as Mansion Flats.
