Elk Grove City Council will take at least a couple more weeks to come to a decision on the controversial Oak Rose Apartments project.

Facing litigation from the developer and the state of California on one side — and on the other, a roomful of angry residents opposing the project — the council voted unanimously Wednesday to continue a hearing on the permanent supportive housing project until the Oct. 11 meeting.

“We want the developer and the state to work with us,” Mayor Bobbie Singh-Allen said before the vote. “We want to have these conversations.”
