With an agreement to relocate the project elsewhere, Excelerate Housing Group and the city of Elk Grove have announced a settlement over the contentious Oak Rose Apartments permanent supportive housing project.

As part of the settlement, the 67-unit project would instead be on city-owned property at 8484 Elk Grove-Florin Road, rather than the originally proposed spot in Old Town Elk Grove.

“This settlement underscores our dedication to fostering a partnership with Excelerate, addressing the concerns of our community, and positioning this project for success,” Elk Grove Mayor Bobbie Singh-Allen said in a press release from the city. “We recognize the importance of permanent supportive housing in our region and this resolution reflects the city’s commitment to providing a compassionate and effective solution.”
