After 20 years of ownership, Sacramento County leaders have decided to list for sale 71 acres of bare land near the former Mather Air Force Base.
On the northeast corner of Douglas Boulevard and Mather Road outside Rancho Cordova, the land will first be made available for affordable housing development.
“The county doesn’t have a specific type of buyer in mind for the property,” Ken Casparis, a county spokesman, said in an email. “The property is well situated for economic development uses and purposes.”
