The city of Elk Grove and the California Attorney General’s office have announced a settlement over the Oak Rose Apartments permanent supportive housing project.

The settlement puts an end to the last of two lawsuits filed against the city after its 2022 refusal to approve the 67-unit project that was proposed in Old Town Elk Grove.

“Our housing laws are not suggestions. They are not recommendations. They are not optional for your consideration,” Attorney General Rob Bonta said at a news conference announcing the settlement Wednesday morning.
