Woodland City Council is planning to close escrow by year’s end on a piece of land near downtown Woodland slated for future affordable housing.
The 2.6-acre piece on the northwest corner of West Main Street and Ashley Avenue will cost $2.6 million, with the timeline yet to be determined for when the city will look for a developer to take it on.
“Most simply, it’s acquiring and preserving a really good spot for infill affordable housing,” said Spencer Bowen, the city’s spokesman.
