Sacramento’s Terra Lopez performs “Come Around Me” as Rituals of Mine with three-quarters of local jazz-hip-hop group LabRats for Hangout Gigs, a monthly series that spotlights Sacramento-based musicians and artists.
Rituals of Mine is where Lopez’ love for R&B, hip hop and electronic music combine to create something new; a sound that Lopez describes as “whatever I’m feeling in the moment.”
Lopez has recently started collaborating with LabRats and the result has been a reimagining of the Rituals of Mine catalogue to include more jazz influences, live instrumentation and opportunities for improvisation. In this performance, the band includes Joey Archie (keys), Jacob Swedlow (drums) and Miguel Recendez (bass synth).
