A senior housing property in Citrus Heights, described as in disrepair, is headed for a new future as affordable housing for seniors.
Nonprofit Hope Cooperative is planning to start work early next year on renovating Auburn Oaks Senior Living, at 7501 Sunrise Blvd, into 88 studio or one-bedroom apartments.
“This project will expand community capacity to serve vulnerable seniors who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness,” said Karina Riley, external affairs manager for Arden-Arcade-based Hope Cooperative, in an email. “This includes those seniors who have a serious mental illness or those that are Adult Protective Services involved.”
