Emilee Durbin, a singer-songwriter, local music collaborator and creator of indie-pop band dogpatch, recently had the experience of performing for thousands of people at the Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez rally in Folsom in April.
The following week, Durbin along with her bandmates Harlequin Rose and Riley Echo sat down at the Torch Club in front of a live audience to talk about their experience of playing at the rally, along with other reflections of Sacramento’s music scene.
“I feel like the Sacramento community is full of not only really talented musicians and bands, but people who are equally as kind and warm,” Durbin said. “And I think that more people need to see the community for how kind and warm the music community is. It’s just been such a blessing. Everyone in my band, at least, is super connected and we have a deep friendship and bond with each other. It made the day extra special.”
