The LabRats performed a live version of “Jef Costello Shot a Man” after sitting down with “Creativity in the Capital” podcast co-host Nick Brunner for an interview at the first Hangout Gigs Live event at the Torch Club.

The quartet, dubbed “your favorite rapper’s favorite band” by synth bassist Miguel Recendez, is an eclectic group of seasoned musicians known for hosting Sunday Sessions every week at the Torch Club. Jacob Swedlow (drums), Joey Archie (keys), Thomas Molina (trumpet) and fill-in bassist Tyler Miles showed how LabRats are not afraid to push musical boundaries.

While the band is instrumental, they often collaborate with Sacramento vocalists, rappers and musicians in an effort to help the Sacramento music scene showcase its sound.
