Sacramento singer-songwriter Ocean Affonso performs “Anchor” for Hangout Gigs, a monthly series that features Sacramento-based musicians and artists.
Affonso finds inspiration in alternative rock and blends that with her propensity for atmospheric indie soundscapes. She notes artists like Radiohead, David Bowie and Goldfrapp as influences.
Affonso self produces her recordings — completely self-taught — and describes her creative process as deeply personal. “Everything that goes into it comes from my heart.”
She plans to release a debut album in 2026, featuring music and songs written over the course of the past several years.
